At Hallahan, McGuinness, & Lorys Ltd. began in 1988 with a simple belief that insurance should feel personal. Gene Hallahan, George McGuinness, and Thomas Lorys set out to build an independent agency that put honest service at the center of every decision. They wanted clients to feel like partners, not policy numbers, and that mindset shaped the business from day one.

Their approach worked. As the agency grew, so did the relationships behind it. Clients became friends, families sent referrals, and HML earned a reputation as a neighborhood agency you could trust. Gene and George have since passed on, but their influence remains woven into everything we do. Tom continues to carry their legacy forward, keeping the spirit of that original vision alive.

Today, HML is a 20 person agency that still runs on the values our founders built. Tom’s two sons, Brian and Logan, represent the next generation of Hallahan, McGuinness, & Lorys, ensuring that the agency remains family-owned, community-rooted, and focused on doing right by the people we serve.

We’ve expanded our reach over the years, offering clients access to more than 20 insurance carriers across a wide range of personal and commercial markets. While we provide some life and health coverage, we’re best known for our property and casualty expertise.
